Handwoven Youth is a 501(c)(3) foundation dedicated to advancing inclusive education and expanding literacy resources for public school students, educators, and families. Through a holistic approach grounded in community support, purposeful partnerships, and transformative initiatives, we provide literacy resources along with workshops and opportunities to schools, libraries, and community organizations. We combine advocacy, community engagement, and direct service to address low literacy rates and chronic disengagement in education. We prioritize books by underrepresented authors, focusing on stories that reflect the diverse identities and experiences of all students. Our book curator carefully selects each title to resonate with the communities we serve and align with our mission to promote equity in education. Handwoven Youth operates with team members from across the country, spanning the East, West, Midwest, and Southern regions. However, our primary in-person work is focused on the East Coast, particularly in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We’re currently seeking ambassadors nationwide—if you’re interested, please email us.
